Venice, Italy   July 15 - 17

 

 

Day 8  A rather long day in the bus but with the well placed rest stops and a yummy pizza lunch it didn't feel like it!   

Once we arrived in Venice, we took the Vaporetto across the Grand Canal then we walked through a maze of walkways to our hotel.  This is where you really appreciate packing light!!!  A quick orientation walk so we can find our way back to our hotel and we are off to a group dinner.  After eating, our whole group went on a gondola ride...complete with singer and guitar player.  It was relaxing to go under the many bridges instead of over!

 

Day 9 We had an early morning walking tour of Venice with a local guide.  It rained for about 10 minutes, the first rain we had seen.  On the tour we visited many sights of Venice, including a mask maker. After a gelato we attended a Vivaldi Four Seasons concert.  It was an enjoyable impromtu decison!
